#10 CAP DE FORMENTOR

 

岬を自転車で走り抜け、松林を経てなだらかな傾斜を上がると

目の前には碧い空と海しかなくなりました。

何もないところに放り投げ出されたかのような、解放感。

どこにも何ももない、ゼロに向かって飛んでいく感じが22年SSのテーマです。

2020年12月、ヨーロッパのいくつかの国は制限がありながらも

比較的簡単に旅行できるようになっていました。

同じ場所にいてとても息苦しくなっていたので、

海が見たい気持ちでマヨルカ島を訪れました。

 

マヨルカの北西の端にある岬がCap de Formentorです。

土地の人がMeeting point of windsと呼ぶ場所。

西と東からの風がぶつかり合って、風が吠える音だけ聞こえる。

 

As we were biking across Cap de Formentor,

passing through pine forest, we reached the edge of the cape.

It felt like being carried by the wind,

and thrown out into the blue sea and sky.

It felt like intense freedom.

Our 22SS’s theme is flying to nowhere, to zero.

Cap de Formentor forms the northernmost point of the island.

It is called the Meeting point of winds by the locals.

Wind from West and East break up there, producing high wind. 

When at the cape, you only hear its strong howling.
